Sizing & Measurements

Every Zifaaf piece is cut to your measurements. We do not work from standard dress sizes, so there is no size chart to choose from. Instead, we will guide you through taking the measurements we need, and confirm every one with you before production begins.

What we will ask for

Upper body

  • Bust — around the fullest part
  • Underbust — directly beneath the bust
  • Shoulder — seam to seam across the back
  • Sleeve length — shoulder to desired end point
  • Armhole — around the fullest part of the upper arm
  • Blouse length — shoulder to desired hem

Lower body

  • Waist — at your natural waistline
  • Hip — around the fullest part
  • Skirt length — waist to floor, wearing the heels you will wear on the day

Height — barefoot

Getting it right

  • Measure over the underwear you will wear on the day, especially the bra. It changes the bust and blouse measurements more than people expect.
  • Keep the tape snug but not tight. It should sit flat against you without compressing.
  • Have someone else measure you if at all possible. Self-measurement of the back and shoulders is unreliable.
  • Wear your event heels when measuring skirt length, or tell us the heel height.
  • Send us your measurements as taken. Do not round them or adjust them to a size you have in mind — we will handle the ease and fit.

Please be certain

We confirm every measurement with you in writing before your piece goes into production. Once confirmed, we cut to those measurements exactly.

Because of this, we are not able to accept returns or offer refunds where a garment has been made correctly to the measurements you supplied. If you are at all unsure about a measurement, tell us — we would far rather answer a question now than remake a skirt later.
